Survey of a Megalithic Site at Arzap
by Dr. Joel D. Klenck.

The archaeology of multi-use sites is complicated by the interplay of taphonomic and depositional processes, preservation factors, and the impact of cultural beliefs and financial motivations at these locales. A survey was conducted of a megalithic site with lithic remains associated with the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B period (8,700-6,000 B.C.). The site was reused in later periods as a burial ground with inhabitants modifying the megaliths to exhibit their beliefs. Modern populations are now exhuming these later burials in an attempt to recover coins and other artifacts.
